BOOK SPOTLIGHT/ EXCERPT: The Color Pink by Parker Paige

The Color Pink

The Blurb

Can wearing the color pink attract true love?

That is the question Summer Jones intends to answer.

In her early thirties, Summer Jones thought that she had found the perfect man, the man she planned to marry until she learned that he still had feelings for his first love. Now, at age thirty-five, Summer is ready to fall in love again. After she hears that wearing the color pink can attract true love, she sets out to do just that--and attracts more than just true love.

Follow Summer as she journeys into the world of color magic and find out how she uses that magic to help her choose between one man from her past and another man who is destined to become her future.

This romantic drama serves up something fun and sexy, proving that the road to love can be paved with many painful lessons and memorable moments. It’s a story about paying attention to your past so that you don’t always have to repeat it.

I should know better. There is no way Sarah Jane is going to allow me to skip out on a birthday celebration for any reason. Without an inkling of joy in my soul, I stare at the water glass before me.
“             “You know, you could be a little more enthusiastic,” Sarah Jane says. ““It is your birthday.”  “
“And no boyfriend.”  “
“So what, you don’t have a boyfriend. You have me.”   “
“Sarah Jane, as much as I love you, it’s not the same thing.”  “
“Do you know how many birthdays have come and gone when I didn’t have anyone special in my life?”  “
“Of course, it’s easy for you to say this now because you have someone,” I say.   “
“And you will too. You just have to have faith.” Sarah Jane leans back in her chair. ““Do you ever hear from him?” “
“Who?”  “
“Who do you think? John?” “
“No, and I don’t expect to either.”  “
“Who are you kidding? You know you’re hoping that the two of you will get back together.”
““Get back together? With him? I might be crazy, but I’m not insane.”  Though there may be a tad bit of truth to what Sarah Jane suggests, my reunion with John is definitely not something I am banking on.
Sarah Jane begins scanning through her iPhone. ““I have to find someone for you to have sex with.”
My mouth drops open. ““Excuse me?”

BOOK SPOTLIGHT/ EXCERPT/ GIVEAWAY: Snowbound With The Soldier by Jennifer Faye

Snowbound with the Soldier

Book Blurb

Maybe this Christmas…?

It has been seven long years since Kara Jameson last saw Jason Greene. Returning home as a wounded war hero, Jason looks a shell of the man she once knew. Yet her heart still skips a beat as if it was yesterday….

Stepping back into civilian life, Jason looks to Kara for help. But there's too much water under the bridge—not to mention too much lingering attraction.

But it seems that the mountain weather has other ideas, and when Kara and Jason end up snowbound together they are forced to confront the ghosts of Christmas past.

Between the covers…

Old Man Winter huffed and puffed, rattling the doors of the Greene Summit Resort. Kara Jameson turned her back on the dark, blustery night. She didn't relish heading out into the declining weather to navigate her way home after a very long day at work.

She took a moment to admire the massive evergreen standing in the lobby of what had once been one of Pennsylvania's premier ski destinations. The twinkling white lights combined with the sparkling green and red decorations would normally fill her with holiday cheer, but not tonight. Not even the rendition of "Jingle Bells" playing softly in the background could tempt her to hum along.

The resort had been sold. The somber thought weighed heavily on her shoulders. It didn't help that rumors were running rampant that all the management positions were being replaced.

Why did it have to happen with Christmas only a few weeks away?

Everything will work out. Everything will work out. She repeated the mantra over and over in her mind, anxious to believe the old adage. But something in her gut said nothing would ever be the same again.

"Kara?"

The deep baritone voice came from behind her. She froze. Her gaze remained locked on a red bell-shaped ornament as her mind processed the sound. Even in the two syllables of her name, she knew that voice, knew the way her name rolled off his tongue as sweet as candy.

Jason Smith.

It couldn't be. He'd sworn he would never come back.

"Kara, won't you even look at me?"

It was only natural that she dreamed of becoming a romance writer and spinning the tales of the imaginary people running around in her mind. But first life took her on a couple of detours. Refusing to give up on her dreams, she finally succeeded in getting her name on a book cover. She currently resides in Pennsylvania with her very, very patient husband, one amazing daughter (the other remarkable daughter has flown the coop to chase her own dreams) and two spoiled rotten cats. Her Wicked Angel
(Her Angel #6)
by Felicity Heaton

The King of Demons and the Devil’s right hand man, Asmodeus is a dark angel born of evil and created for destruction. When his master orders him to venture into the mortal world and retrieve a female for him, he seizes the chance to leave Hell for the first time, uncaring of what the Devil has planned for her… until he sets eyes on the most beautiful woman he has ever seen—a female who awakens new feelings within his black heart, unleashing passion so intense that it controls him and desire he cannot resist.

He will not let his wretched master have her. She will belong to him.

Liora is a witch with a bad reputation and an obsession with fighting demons. A mission gone wrong sees her sent to Paris to cool off, but when a dark and deadly warrior with a gaze of golden fire lands in her life, she ends up burning hotter than Hell for the wicked angel. Nothing will stand between her and the immense, forbidding male. Not her cousin. Not Asmodeus’s sworn enemy and twin, Apollyon. And certainly not the Devil.

Caught up in a tempest of danger and soul-searing passion, can they survive against the odds and seize their forever after?

Her Wicked Angel is available from Amazon Kindle, Kobo Books, Barnes and Noble Nook, Apple iBooks stores and many other retailers. Also available in paperback. Find the links to your preferred retailer at: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/ebooks.php?title=Her%20Wicked%20Angel

Asmodeus rested his elbows on the black railing behind him, tilted his head right back and stared at the colourful cloud-strewn sky, trying to figure out why he had received a hard slap as payment for protecting her from the male.

He wanted to understand this world and the protocols, and somehow find a way to learn the right reactions to situations.

He didn’t want to scare her away.

His senses shifted entirely to her, locked and focused, feeling her close beside him, her power wrapping around him like warm arms. She had felt soft and light when he had carried her, warm against his flesh. She had stared at him until he had been intensely aware of her gaze on his face.

On his lips.

He had wanted to kiss her.

He still wanted to even though she was full of light and purity, and she was so warm and friendly, filled with beautiful concern about everyone. Even strangers.

Even him.

He had never witnessed such good in anyone before.

It left him feeling there really was no good in him and made him wish more than ever that there were.

He had told her that he was evil and she had seen the darkness in him, the violence he was quick to embrace and the cruelty, but she had remained with him, asking him to take her somewhere else, somewhere quieter.

He had expected her to leave and she had wanted him to stay.

He didn’t understand her at all.

Asmodeus raised his left hand above him, stretched his fingers out with his palm facing the sky, and stared at it.

He had told her that he had no friends and she had held this hand, squeezing it against the railing and showing him compassion. Why?

There was no room for friendship in his life. It was a weakness. Good was a weakness. Affection was a sin. Compassion and care were flaws.

So why did he want to feel these things?

He didn’t. He clenched his teeth and his fingernails transformed into sharp black claws and his fangs lengthened. He had no weakness. No soft emotions to leave him open to attack. No vulnerabilities.

He felt Liora’s gaze on him and ignored her, struggling with his feelings and trying to subdue them again. He was wasting time here. He should take her down to the Devil and be done with it. All he was doing was worsening the punishment his master would deal when he returned with her, and he would return with her. The Devil would see to that.

He was weak.

Vulnerable.

Unable to fight his master’s orders.

The Devil had absolute power over him and eventually he would tire of waiting and command him to return, and Asmodeus would not be strong enough to fight that order.

“How long have you had Romulus and Remus?” Liora’s tone was soft and soothing, calming the growing tempest within him until it subsided and he forgot his fear and lowered his gaze to her.

New fear grew in its place.

He had never talked about himself to anyone before. No one had ever wanted to know about him, but she was genuinely interested and for some reason he was finding it hard to deny her. It was strange to talk to her about his life. Strange and dangerous.

It left him feeling uncertain and more on edge than the males who loitered in the square and were potentially a threat to her.

If she knew the things he had done and the person he was, she wouldn’t want to know about him anymore.

“Several centuries.” He kept his response short and before she could ask another question, he changed tactics on her. “Have you been a witch all your life?”

This was new to him too. He had never wanted to know about anyone before, but he wanted to know all about her.

She nodded, her chestnut waves bouncing against her shoulders. “Ever since I was born. I’ve lived with a coven the whole time.”

The area began to empty, the single males dwindling in number and the couples moving away into darker corners. Asmodeus tried not to look at them as they embraced or kissed.

Liora ran her fingers along the metal railing and her arm brushed his, sending a thousand volts jolting up it and through his body. His gaze whipped around to her and found her looking out at the city, not at him. He could have sworn she had been watching him a second ago.

“Are you as powerful as Serenity… or less powerful?” He couldn’t resist turning her earlier question against her, or staring at her. The streetlights illuminated her face, softening her features further. Her beauty entranced him.

She smiled, rosy lips curling slowly into it, and a light entered her eyes, a twinkle that he knew he had put there. He had never made anyone smile like that before and he found he liked it and wanted to make it happen again. He just wasn’t sure how. He had zero experience of being amusing or entertaining, unless you were the Devil. He could entertain his master no end by torturing demons for his viewing pleasure.

Asmodeus didn’t think that would entertain or amuse Liora.

“More powerful,” she echoed his earlier words and he found himself smiling at her.

Liora turned to face him, her left arm remaining leaning against the black railing, and held her right hand out in front of her.

She snapped her fingers and a glowing black rose made of light appeared in her hand.

She held it out to him and when he went to take it, she evaded his hand and brushed the soft warm petals over his bare chest. His heart thudded hard and the smile that had been working its way onto his lips dropped away. The air around him sizzled and the awareness of Liora he felt at times came back full force, flowing through him like electricity, coursing through his blood and making him hot all over.

Liora looked up at him, the action of tilting her head back causing her lips to part invitingly.

Asmodeus swallowed and fought the dark instinct to claim those lips and devour them.

Unless she wanted him to kiss her.

Was that possible? He had studied the couples in the area, and how they courted with smiles and laughter, and light touches that seem designed to arouse and excite the interest of their partner.

He wanted to kiss her.

No good would come of it though. It would only increase his desire to keep her from the Devil and fight his master’s orders, and it would only cut him when he failed and delivered her to that wretched male.

The black rose disappeared and her hand settled against his bare chest. It was shaking. She was nervous too, afraid of whatever this was that zinged between them whenever they were close.

Asmodeus raised his hand to cover hers and froze when a shiver bolted down his spine, hot and fierce, and the ground trembled.

“Conceal yourself,” he barked and she stared blankly at him. He cursed and cast a veil over her, and pushed her behind him at the same time, shielding her with his body and his black wings in case his spell failed.

A bright orange spot formed on the pale stone slabs before him and then forked outwards into a glowing fault line. The ground trembled again and the fiery line cracked open, becoming a fissure. Steam and smoke rose from it and the mortals in the area screamed and ran.

Liora shook beneath his hand that clutched her wrist but he could feel her power rising, growing in the face of her fear.

A Hell’s angel burst from the earth and beat his crimson wings.

Matched… Paired for a night of temptation and release, will these two damaged souls find ice turning to fire?

“Do you-do you find men attractive?”

She shrugged.

“Do you find me attractive?”

Her focus snapped back to him. Sebastian. With his deep emerald eyes. The little prickles of an insistent day beard sprouting on his chin. The delicious curve of his jaw.

“Yes.” Yes. She found him attractive. More so than any man she’d ever met.

It scared her to death.

“I find you attractive, too, Katie. Very attractive. But I don’t want to ask you to do anything that makes you uncomfortable.”

Oh. There it was.

He was ending it.

A lump settled in her belly.

It was for the best. Really it was—

“So let’s take this slow, shall we?”

She gaped at him. “S-slow?”

He smiled and it warmed her heart.

Oh wait. It was his palm, skating across her shoulder, down her arm, cupping her breast. That was what warmed her.

“Stop me if this makes you uncomfortable.”

Oh, it made her uncomfortable. Sent sharp tingles along every nerve. Made her body start to soften and swell. Made her womb quiver.

But she wasn’t stopping him. No way.

BOOK SPOTLIGHT/ GUEST POST/ GIVEAWAY: Kiss Me in Paris by Dmytry Karpov and Kimberly Kinrade

Kiss Me in Paris by Karpov Kinrade

BLURB

No one knows my secret. Ever since high school, ever since I started living in fear, no one has known the true me. But then I met him, and I couldn't hide anymore. He became my hero, saving me from the villain of my past. He became my friend, his smile a blanket of warmth. And he scared me. Because he, this beautiful man, he might become more. Then he'd see the real me, and I couldn't let that happen. My name is Winter, and what I desire most I can't have. Flashes of the night I was drugged rush back to me. His strong arms carrying me through the streets of Paris. The feel of his heart beating as my head rested against his chest. The soft press of his lips against my forehead when he thought I was asleep. Oh shit. I'm falling for the cowboy. Cade. But we can't be anything more. He has his own secrets. His own darkness he keeps hidden, like the letter he keeps with him everywhere he goes. The letter he refuses to open.

Kiss Me in the Airport: Our First Kiss

When you write a romance novel with your spouse, it's inevitable that your own relationship seeps into the pages of the book. Kiss Me in Paris was no exception. And given the title, and the fact that Cade and Winter have their first kiss in Paris, we thought we'd write about our own first kiss, his and her style. Enjoy this story of our first kiss, and at the end, share with us YOUR first kiss.

Kimberly Kinrade says:

I kissed my husband within moments of seeing him for the first time. It was like a scene from a movie. Our eyes met across a crowded airport. We were drawn to each other like magnets. (Or something more romantic than magnets. Also, something more romantic than moths to a flame, because that simile sounds painful.) The air between us sizzled with desire and unmet need. When he reached for me and pulled me to him, when my breasts pressed against the muscles in his chest, my heart beat faster and butterflies swarmed my stomach. His lips found mine, and as he deepened that kiss, our essence mingling as we breathed in each other, I knew I’d spend the rest of my life loving this man. How could I know so soon? Well, there is a backstory. You see, we may have just met that moment in the airport on New Year’s Eve, but we’d been anticipating that meeting for months. Dmytry and I first got to know each other on Twitter. Through a series of fortuitous tweets, we discovered a shared love of writing. What started out as writing partners grew into something more, but we weren’t ready to call it love. Not yet. We were scared. Scared of how we would make it work when we lived in different countries. Scared of what the world would say to our age difference, to the fact that I already had three children. But it didn’t matter, because the love we had was stronger than our fears, stronger than our demons, stronger than anything the world could put in our way to stop us. And so that kiss was a promise of forever. As Winter says in Kiss Me in Paris, “Airports hold their own kind of magic. They are gateways to other worlds, in the most real sense. An airport is a portal, taking you from one life to another. When you fly, you’re suspended in time and place, not existing anywhere fully until you land.” And she’s right. That day, in that airport, with that kiss, we traveled from one life to another. I traveled from the life of a single mom struggling to make ends meet, to a married woman working full time with her husband to live both of our dreams as writers. And it’s a trip I’ll never forget. When Winter and Cade kiss for the first time, they get fireworks in Paris, but when Dmytry and I kissed for the first time, we got a whole new life.

Dmytry Karpov says:

We once had a Skype conversation, and it went something like this: Kimberly asked, “Will we kiss, at the airport?” And I typed, “We will. I’ll kiss you.” Then she replied with a <3 or a :) I don’t remember. But I do remember that from that moment I started to plan our first kiss. I’d kiss her forehead first. Now, I’m not sure why I thought that. Perhaps because I’m taller than most people and foreheads are mostly what I see. So I imagined: I’d lean down and kiss her forehead. Good. Next, I’d cup her face in my hands, look her in the eyes, and say, “I love you.” That would be our first in-person ‘I love you,’ and it seemed fitting that it should come before our first kiss. Now, I know that’s not the way things usually happen in real life. In real life, people kiss, then say I love you weeks or months later. Right. Right. Right. But it is the way things usually happen in the movies. And I like movies. So do most people. Often, they’re more romantic than real life. So my life would be like a movie. Once all the forehead kissing and the eye staring and the love speaking was done with, then, and only then, would I kiss Kimberly. That sounded perfect to me. Of course, I knew it would never happen. Things never happen as you expect. Days later, I got ready to leave. I packed one backpack. I left early in the morning. A few hours later, I arrived at the Los Angeles airport. There were a great many people there, and I walked alone for a long while. My greatest fear became that I would not recognize Kimberly the first time I saw her. Or perhaps, that I had already seen her and walked by. Terrifying thoughts, really. How did I expect my plan to ever work? Eventually, I noticed a group of children. And they noticed me. And then they smiled and charged at me. I knew them to be Kimberly’s kids. And looking over their cute little heads, I knew that I would see the woman of my dreams. And I did. She stood before me, though she was still a few feet away, radiant and glowing and warm like the sun. I gave the kids at my feet a hug. And as Kimberly walked toward me, I walked toward her. We hugged. And I kissed her forehead. And I cupped her face and stared at her eyes, big, blue and beautiful, and I said, “I love you.” And I kissed her. After that, I don’t remember much. We walked to the car I suppose. But I do remember what I learned. That sometimes, things do turn out as you expect. And sometimes they turn out even better. And that from that moment on, my life turned out even better than I imagined. Our love for each other is made out of memories. And that first kiss may be the most powerful memory of all. When I think of the human experience, I can think of nothing more powerful than falling in love. It’s something everyone should experience. And I want to help them. So I wrote a novel with Kimberly, now my wife, about falling in love. It’s called Kiss Me in Paris, and it captures all the wonder and excitement I felt that day at the airport. I hope this novel helps people experience love and remember their own. I hope, reading it, they’ll remember their first kiss. And how they planned it. Or how they didn’t. And how wonderful it was.

SPOTLIGHT: Love at High Tide by Christi Barth

Love at High Tide

Book Blurb

Darcy Trent is lucky Cooper Hudson is on hand to sweep her off her feet—literally—when she nearly drowns while swimming in the ocean. But life-saving aside, Mr. Perfect's timing stinks: Darcy's career is about to take her to the complete opposite side of the Atlantic. Still, a little summer loving with the tall, blond and sexy former cop is far too tempting to pass up.

When his plans to enter the Secret Service went south thanks to a bum knee, Coop retreated to the family beach house to mull his future. Romance is the last thing on his mind, until he fishes a curvy brunette out of the sea. Now, spending time in Darcy's arms seems like the ideal distraction, even if it is just for a week.

But with Darcy's departure date fast approaching and their careers on the line, can they realize in time that their beach fling might become the real thing?

“Thanks for the rescue. If you hadn’t grabbed me, I’d still be doing somersaults underwater. In my book, that qualifies you for hero status.”

An unreadable emotion flickered across his eyes so fast she almost missed it. In a low mutter, he said, “Don’t call me a hero.” He hit the hard-packed sand at the edge of the water and stopped walking.

Modest, heroic and gorgeous. And it didn’t take even a fraction of her eight years of training in cultural anthropology to figure out he was attracted to her. They’d long since hit land, and yet he made no move to put her down. Not that she was complaining. She’d happily continue to sit cradled in his arms. It gave her an up-close view of his chiseled cheekbones, sharp enough to etch glass. Her fingers brushed through the salt-spiked tips of his blond hair. No doubt about it: she’d found the man candy Trina had promised. One bite of him would be as sinful and addictive as a chocolate honey truffle.

“Well, I can’t call you Mr. In-The-Right-Place-At-The-Right-Time.” When his lips curled up showing off his dimple, Darcy’s interest kicked up a notch.

“Good point. I’m Cooper Hudson. Coop, to my friends.”

“Darcy Trent.”

“It’s been a long time since I met an ocean virgin.”

“Oh, but only in the aquatic sense, I assure you.” What? Why wave her long-vanished virginity under his nose? Now he probably thought she had the morals of an alley cat. But hearing the hottest man she’d ever seen use the word virgin threw her for a loop. Not the standard nice-to-meet-you conversation, by a long shot.

He flashed an easy smile. “Don’t worry. I hadn’t planned on delivering you as a virgin sacrifice to appease the volcano gods over at the mini-golf course.”

Okay, now Darcy could add funny to the list of his overwhelming awesomeness. Maybe she really had blacked out and was hallucinating her ideal man while unconscious, underwater. What else could explain such perfection?

“Darcy, what happened?” Trina’s yell preceded her appearance in front of them. After a quick yank upward to her scrap of a top, she rested her hand on Darcy’s leg. “Why’s he carrying you? Did you get stung in the foot by a jellyfish? ’Cause if you did, I’ll pee on it. That’ll take the sting away.”

That certainly settled the whole am-I-hallucinating question. Never, ever would Darcy fantasize about her best friend peeing on her. The situation had to be real. And if Trina in all her adorable annoyingness was real, then her hot hero hunk had to be real, too.

To her dismay, Cooper lowered her to the ground.

“Your friend’s fine,” Cooper announced. “A wave almost rolled her, so she’s a little shaken up, but uninjured.”

“You keep your distance,” Darcy warned with a hand raised to keep Trina at arm’s length. “Don’t even think about peeing on me. Not even if I get attacked by an entire school of jellyfish.”

Trina wrinkled her nose. “Okay, but if the situation arises, just remember that I would be willing to make that sacrifice.”

“Friendship is a beautiful thing.” Cooper’s sardonic tone belied the sincerity of his expression.

BOOK SPOTLIGHT/ GUEST POST/ GIVEAWAY: The Alpha's Daughter by Jacqueline Rhoades

The Alpha's Daughter

There is a balm in Gilead, to heal the wounded soul…

Jazz Phillips is on the run, fleeing from a fate most females in her pack accept as their lot in life; an arranged mating, something Jazz thought wasn't in her future as the Alpha's daughter and only child. She doesn't want to be the next Alpha's Mate. She doesn't want to be anyone's mate. She likes her life just the way it is until she finds herself stranded in the mountain town of Gilead, home to a small and close knit pack of wolvers. Once there, she begins to question her life as it was and begins to wonder about what it could be, especially in the arms of the wolver the people call Doc.

Doc Goodman claims to have settled in Gilead because he saw a need for his services, but in fact, he's a runaway, too. He's rejected his wolver heritage and the warring politics that stripped him of everything he loved most. He's biding his time, waiting to die, until he meets the blue haired, foul mouthed beauty who shows him there are still things worth living for and the most important of them are worth fighting for.

To See Ourselves As Others See Us

"O wad some Power the giftie gie us, To see oursels as ithers see us!" (O would some Power with vision teach us, To see ourselves as others see us!)

I've always loved the poetry of Robert Burns [1759–1796] and while this line from To A Louse (Yeah, you read that right. We're talking lice here) refers to something else, I've always thought of books when I hear it. Books, for me, have always been a means of escape, a way for me to vicariously live another life in a different place, in a different time or even a different world. I get to walk in someone else's shoes for a while. In my favorite books, I get to see a little bit of myself in the protagonist, usually the heroine, but not always. That's the giftie, the vision; to see myself as others might see me. These are the characters that inspire me even when the story has nothing to do with my real life. They beg the words, "What if…?"

At some point in a good story -usually about halfway- there is a moment of enlightenment where the main character comes to the realization that they are more than what they thought they were. In some books this is a moment of high drama ("I'm going to lead this army to victory!") In others, it's more subtle. ("I'm going to stop being afraid and give love a chance.") Quite often, these changes occur because the characters begin to see themselves as others see them. In romance, it's often the hero who 'sees' the heroine or it can work both ways and they 'see' each other.

I try very hard to make this happen in my books. I want my women (characters) to see themselves as others see them. I want my readers to see themselves in my characters and take a good look in the mirror.
Take Elizabeth (The Alpha's Mate) for example. A reviewer complained once that she was a wuss. Oddly enough, I don't disagree. She started out that way. In spite of her age, she was, in some ways, a sheltered and naïve wuss. The important thing is she didn't stay that way. Okay, she made mistakes and misjudgments, but she also learned she was stronger and braver than she thought possible and that her eclectic store of knowledge could be put to good use.

My women come from a variety of social backgrounds; from wealth and privilege and higher learning to poorer neighborhoods with little formal education. They come in different shapes and sizes and range in personality from quiet and demure to downright aggressive, but they all have things in common. They're unhappy with their lives as they are and don't recognize their own strengths. Even Jazz, (The Alpha's Daughter) who's the most confident of the bunch (and hell in a bar brawl) doesn't see her compassion for and understanding of the human condition as a strength.

It's through the eyes of others that they begin to see themselves. Does that mean they all turn out the same? Absolutely not! The Alpha brothers in my wolver series are very different from each other in personality and temperament and even in what turns them on! But each is best suited to the Mate who falls in love with them. The Guardians are the same. Grace and Canaan (Guardian' Grace) have a playful and exuberant sex life. They like to play games. Hope (Guardian's Hope) would be mortified by the things they get up to. Quiet and tender loving is what both she and Nico need. Is one right and the other wrong? Of course not.

Which brings me back to Grace. I sometimes think she was the wrong Daughter of Man to start with, but she was the first to speak up in my head, so she got her story written first. In all her life, Grace only wanted one thing; a family to care for and one to care for her. Cooking and cleaning for the members of the House is an expression of her love. Some readers misunderstand this (no doubt they're housework haters like me) and assume that all my characters will end up as Suzy Homemaker. They don't understand that Grace isn't trapped in a traditional role. She chose it. She thrives on it! She is the driving force that binds this diverse group of individuals into a functioning and supportive whole.

Hope, on the other hand, was raised to be a household drudge and finds no fond memories there. She discovers her head for business and that's where she grows and is happy. You won't find JJ (Guardian's Joy) in the kitchen, either, and she'd pull her short, spiky hair out by the roots if she had to sit at a desk all day. We should all be more like the Daughters and support each other's choices even when they're different from our own.

The women of my Alpha series are the same; different tastes in men, in sex, and in attitudes. I say, "More power to them!"

My books are about finding love and about realizing dreams and not just in the bedroom. They're about ordinary women in extraordinary circumstance who find powers and strengths in themselves that they never knew were there. Through the eyes of their lovers, they learn to see themselves as beautiful and in the way that others see them, they find the strong and capable women they truly are.

That's what I want for my readers. I want them to see a bit of themselves in my characters. No matter what age they are or what their circumstances might be, I want them to learn and grow and have the courage to become the women they never thought they could be. I want them to pursue their dreams. I speak from experience here. I waited a long time to pursue my dream, but here I am, a writer of books.

My very best to you all and may all your dreams come true!
